"Ivorypaw! Ivorypaw! Wake up!" Ivorypaw's head
was throbbing. She tasted blood, and the fur on her head
was sticky with blood, plastered down to her neck.
"Ivorypaw! Please get up!" She still was confused. How was
she alive? She was only an inch from falling down into a
rocky death. But, someone had saved her. "Shrew..n-..o"
Ivorypaw managed to squeek out. "Th-... ank... you"
She heard Shrewnose's voice. "What for? How'd you manage
to keep from falling? Are you okay?" She panicked. "No,
don't make her talk, Shrewnose, she needs to get as much
air as possible. Shrewnose, quick, fetch some cobwebs for
her head, we also need some Marigold and Borage leaves."
It was her Clan's medicine cat, Dawnscar. Dawnscar was
holding Ivorypaw's head up with one paw. "Hang in there,
Ivorypaw." Ivorypaw did her best not to faint. She never
felt this bad, her heart with pounding with the fact that
she was so near death, she could her it. She was on FireClan
territory, near the edge, only a few fox lengths from the
falls. "Here,"Shrewnose dropped the cobwebs. "Thank you."
Dawnscar replied to the offer. Marigold and Borage leaves were
wrapped inside the cobwebs. The white-and-black healer
picked the herbs out of the stringy webs. She chewed up the
leaves, mixing them into a mushy cure. Ivorypaw felt the
slimy leaves being pressed onto her head. The pain eased.
"Oh.. I'm so sorry Ivorypaw! I'm your mentor, I should have
been watching you at all times. Dragonstar is going to
demote me! It's all my fault!" Shrewnose mumbled nervously
to herself. "No no," Dawnscar soothed. "It's not your fault,
it's no one's fault. She'll be fine." Ivorypaw lay there, her
head coated with herbs and cobwebs. "Shrewnose," Ivorypaw
whispered. "Wh-who saved me?" Ivorypaw opened her eyes.
"I- don't know." Shrewnose admitted. "You need some rest."
Ivorypaw tilted her head to the side, and fell quietly asleep.
"Hmph. She's lucky you were here, she would have died.
Like she deserved it." The black apprentice with blue-gray
paws snorted. Sparrowpaw didn't believe that, but he
couldn't blame her. Ivorypaw did act obnoxious yesterday.
"I couldn't dare to see any cat fall to a horrible death like that,
Bluepaw." The smokey cat replyed. "Come on, let's get out of
here before Cloudstar makes us clean the nursery again!
They shouldn't be awake yet, so let's hurry before they do!"
Bluepaw roared.
Ivorypaw got up, she was back at the Five Pools of Sacred
Warriors. Everyone was streaching widely and sharing tongues.
She felt better after the nap. So many still ran through her head.
What was that dream about? How could an apprentice recieve a
prophecy? Who had saved her? How could she have lived?
Ivorypaw just wanted to hid in her bedding and wish it all away.
"Oh, thank god you're okay" Rainpool exclaimed. Rainpool was
a carring mother, the best she could wish for. "Mother, don't
worry." all though her head throbbed, she couldn't look
weak in front of her own birthmother.
She got on her paws, still wobbly, She headed towards the fresh
kill circle. Every cat of every clan was sharing a fine lunch together.
Ivorypaw grabbed mouse and splitted it. She just had to apologize
to Sparrowpaw. She was nervous, but she look around. She spotted
Sparrowpaw talking with his mentor, Brackenthorn. She sighed.
Her paws tredded clumsily one paw after another. Padding across
the clearing felt like a thousands seasons on end. She stopped at
the pool of FireClan, she didn't want to talk to him but she knew
had to. She manuevered around the small lake and squeezed
through the crowd of chattering cats. She tried to talk but her
voice came out faint. "Sp-Sparrowpaw..." "hmm?" Sparrowpaw
looked around. "Oh!" He stopped for a second. "Oh..." his
tone seemed very crushed. "Look, Sparrowpaw.. I'm so sorry.
I don't know why I was being stupid but this is a truce, I shouldn't
disrespect you nor any other cat... Especially a friend." She finished
by dropping the section of mouse at his paws.
He looked at her. "Ivoryp-" he was cut off by snotty voice.
"Oh well who is this? Little miss slips a lot. Have a nice fall?"
Bluepaw snortered diresively. Ivorypaw hissed "You shut it,
missy prissy!" she batted Bluepaw. Suddenly they were both
interupted by a loud wale. Cloudstar stood between the
two quarreling cats. "Enough!" He shouted. "This is a truce,
you will treat eachother with respect or you will destroy the
traddition. Now you two will stop this nonsense or go back to
your camp." He lashed his tail angrely and disapeared into the
crowd. "Furbag" Bluepaw grunted. Ivorypaw sighed.
"Sparrowpaw.. I just... wanted to apologize.. and... well, bye."
Ivorypaw turned and shouldered through the crowd of cats.
Ivorypaw just pondered. I dont see why she's so mean,
she thought. Suddenly all the cats started walking together
in a large group. Where was everyone going? She stood
quietly. Confused, she looked around for her mother.
Every cat of the forest faded away, leaving her, Bluepaw,
and Sparrowpaw. "What's going on?" Ivorypaw questioned.
"No...." Sparrowpaw whispered. "NO!" "What? What's going
on!? Sparrowpaw!" She panicked, she had no clue.
"Foxes!" Sparrowpaw screamed. In the corner of her eye,
numerous foxes stood around them, more and more
comming from the forest. Her heart stopped. All around
her sheer blankets of amber-red ruffled.
"Don't make a sound." Sparrowpaw explained. She
couldn't speak. Suddenly one jumped for Sparrowpaw.
"Sparr!!" Instictivly she threw herself at the pelt of red.
Claws unsheathed she grabbed the fox's neck and plunged
her teeth straight for it's throat. The Fox yowled and missed
Sparrowpaw by an inch. Why did her clan abandon her?
"T-the-the hour of fredon!" Bluepaw shuddered. Oh no,
Ivorypaw thought to herself. The elders had told her stories
of the hour of fredon. When the sun was as high in the sky
it could go, fox's came to the Five pools to find prey.
She realized. She was the prey.
She still clinged on the fox, it let out a loud catur-wale and
all the foxes bared their teeth. The three apprentices stood,
breath taken from their bodies. Ivorypaw gave a slight signal
with her tail. "Attack!" Bluepaw dodged through the crowd of
foxes, confusing their every move. Sparrowpaw and Ivorypaw
fought side by side, dodging attacks and slashing the faces
of the red monsters. Suddenly she was caught off guard,
she tumbled under a fox. The fox picked her up violently
and shook her. The world spun around her, her head became
light. Her eyes closed into darkness.
With in an instant she got back up. Running with the speed
of StarClan, she jumped back into the crowd. Kicking the
devils in the face while biting into their necks untill she draw
blood. "The Hour of Fredon!" A sudden cat cried out. The clans
were back. Thank StarClan she sighed.
